J. Lloyd Spencer....... He was born and raised in West Virginia. He has his B.A. degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and received his Master of Divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, which is located in Delaware, Ohio. After graduating from Seminary, Rev. Spencer moved to North Carolina. In 1989 he accepted the call to serve St. James United Church of Christ in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1995 he returned to North Carolina by accepting the call from Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ in Lexington, North Carolina, where he spent the next twelve years before accepting the call to Mt Hope UCC. Rev. Spencer's wife, Gussie, is a former Special Education Teacher in the public school system. The Spencer's have two grown children, Amy and Jon, and two grandchildren, Will and Samantha. Rev. Spencer is very interested in ministry to children and youth, evangelism, and spiritual growth. The guiding factor in Rev. Spencer's ministry is to join with the church to share the Good News of the gospel through words AND deeds and to have a really good time doing it. |
